In addition to completing the application on our website, all applicants must submit a current Letter of Good Standing (send as a PDF on official letterhead to firstname.lastname@example.org) from their nursing school in order to qualify for this program. All applicants must complete an interview to be selected to participate.
If you are selected, you will be entered into a background check system by NSRH as part of the application process. The background check will be paid for by NSRH (with exceptions). Applicants must also agree to the terms and conditions of the CEP Guidelines, complete the Pre-survey and Post-survey, and complete the documentation of their experience with NSRH.
After successfully completing the application and interview process, students will be put in touch with the Clinic Manager at their assigned site, and details of the schedule and observation opportunities will be developed with the clinic manager on an individual basis.
NSRH requests a minimum of 30 hours of clinical time, however we are not able to guarantee the time available at any given clinical site. No hands-on training is guaranteed, however students will gain valuable exposure to many aspects of nursing care in reproductive health, and are free to negotiate hands on training with their host site.Students will be required to fill out a Pre-Externship Survey and Post-Externship Survey as part of their clinical externship.
