Our chapter was founded in 2009 and has seen steady growth in membership and leadership in the past few years. 6 students are involved on our leadership board and we have over 100 members. We have about 3 events per month and are joined by all levels in the nursing school and often have members in other members join as well to learn more about this scope of practice. We try and provide a wide variety of speakers, activities, and workshops with some of our most popular being Pelvic Floor Basics for Nurses, STI Bingo, A Nursing Approach to Trauma Informed Care, and a canvas bag painting event! We pride ourselves in collaborating with other clubs and organizations to always be learning more and strengthening our community such as working with the Penn Center for Global Women’s Health, Medical Students for Choice, the Minority in Nursing Organization, our school’s Student Health Services, and more! All health, especially reproductive and sexual health, requires holistic care and many different networks are involved for progress so we really pride ourselves in striving for these connections with other groups as well as the NSRH National organization.
