Whether a diagnosis alters how a person physically shows up in the world, how they communicate or their self-esteem, treating a person with a chronic or life-altering diagnosis is so much more than physical care. In this session we will discuss the importance of understanding grief as a chronic and dynamic state and how this framing allows us to better provide holistic, person-centered care to patients experiencing chronic illness or life-altering diagnosis. We will also offer strategies on how to integrate this care into your nursing practice.

Perimenopause is the time period in a patient’s reproductive life just prior to the complete cessation of menses. During this time, premenopausal patients may experience symptomsas a result of changes in hormones, yet are still at risk for pregnancy. This webinar from PICCK will explore the considerations for contraceptive counseling with patients at this time in their lives.We will also discuss how hormonal contraception can provide perimenopause symptom relief.
